Course: Communication Skills - 1 Day

Overview

This Course has been developed to give participants an understanding of the range of communication related skills needed to be effective in the workplace. Topics covered include: Types of communication, verbal/non verbal behaviour, following good practice, listening and questioning techniques.

Participants will be able to discuss personal experiences and consider how they will use communication skills in the future, and have the opportunity to understand and look at the strengths and weaknesses of communication in the workplace.

Aims

To introduce participants to a range of effective communication methods, how to overcome the barriers to using them and to understand what contributes to effective communication.

Objectives

By the end of the course participants will be able to:

Outline a range of effective communication methods.
Have a clearer understanding of the use and reading of body language/non verbal behaviour.
Understand the barriers to effective communication and methods to overcome them.
Understand both listening and questioning techniques
