Course: Managing Change - 1 Day

Overview

This programme has been developed to benefit any manager involved in the introduction or ongoing process of change management. Through trainer input, group and individual exercises this participative course will give managers an understanding of their role in the implementation, control, analysis and effects of change, not only for themselves but also the people they manage. The course will particularly look at the barriers to change and the approaches that can be made to overcome resistance. 

Aims

To introduce participants to the change process and it’s effects through both discussion and practical exercises, in order to give managers a greater understanding of it’s relevance to their organisation and it’s impact not only on the people they control but on themselves as well

Objectives

By the end of this course participants will be able to :
  • Outline what change management is
  • Be aware of the barriers to effective change, particularly from the people they manage
  • Understand the approaches and methods that can be employed to overcome resistance and gain commitment for any planned change
  • Outline a range of strategies to deal with change
  • Understand the managers role and responsibilities through the change process
